As my downward socioeconomic spiral continues, I am unable to continue saving at $32 per week for my next Mac. But when I was saving at that rate, I seemed to be rapidly closing in on my next purchase. However, at $18 per week I notice I am losing ground, and hence am always just a couple hundred out of range. I'm up to like $550, however, the Mac Mini I want, for it to be a real upgrade from the one I have, has gone up to $799, and then there's SF and State taxes onto that, which bring it up to $870. Now by the time I get to $870, it may be that the package by then has gone up to $1,000. However, I have the consolation of knowing that in another year the used computers on ebay will eventually start to constitute and upgrade from my current model. However, there is some kind of karmic "just out of reach" law which plagues the religion of COMPUTERISM.
